Pakistan Army Poets (Urdu Poetry)

Pakistan Army Poets Urdu.

Poetry is a form of literature that uses rhythmic and aesthetic features of language to inspire meanings. Poetry has a long history. Poetry is food for the soul, poetry is magic.

Urdu Poetry has an important place in the cultures of Pakistan and India. Urdu Poetry is recited in Mushairas (poetic expositions) which are very popular among the masses and draw huge crowds. There were some great Urdu poets in undivided India, to name a few, Mir Taqi Mir, Khawaja Mir Dard, Ghalib, Mir Baber Ali Anees, Daagh Dehlvi, Iqbal, Mohammad Ibrahim Zauq, Jigar Moradabadi, etc. After the Partition of India in 1947, Josh Malihabadi, Faiz Ahmad Faiz, Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi, and Ahmad Faraz got fame as poets in Pakistan. Like civilian poets, there are some good Urdu poets in Armed Forces too. This Post has a collection of Urdu poetry written by the poets who have served in the Armed Forces of Pakistan. Though Faiz Ahmad Faiz has also served in ISPR Directorate of Army, but his poetry is not being included here.
