    Dear Faiz Afridi,
I do not find words to console you and can only pray for your mother’s eternal peace. Mother is something special and her loss will be felt at every important moment of your life. I lost mine more than 60 years back and still there are moments that I miss her badly. The best way to remember her is to pray for her in your prayers and recite Quran for her, at least once a year and once in Ramazan.

  12. Dear Faiz,
It is indeed very sad news that I have received through courtesy of Cheema as well as through Shafquat Ullah Khan who is visiting Dubai. I pray that Almighty Allah grant your mother the highest place in heaven and you and your family the strength to bear this loss. A mother and her prayers are like an umbrella that protects her children from all harms and her prayers are surely missed when she passes on to her heavenly abode. This condolence message from a Japanese friend provided me a lot of strength when my mother passed away:
‘I am standing upon the sea shore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other. Then someone at my side says, “There, she is gone.”
    “Gone where?”
Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side, and she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port. Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at the moment when someone at my side says, “There, she is gone!” there are other eyes watching her coming, and there are other voices ready to take up the glad shout, “Here she comes!” And that is dying’.

  13. Lt Col Rashid Zia Cheema (ABD-1) says:

    Dear Afridi,
May the soul of your mother rest in eternal peace at the choicest station in Jannat-ul-Firdous, Aameen.
