  1. A copy of what I wrote in my condolence card to General Mehdi’s family.

Please accept my most sincere condolences on the untimely departure of your husband, father, brother and my friend Hussain Mehdi.

We were classmates at Cathedral High School, Lahore, and course-mates at the PMA.

I always respected Hussain Mehdi (for some reason I always addressed and referred to him by his full name) for his determination and his ability to keep his academic and sports well-balanced.

By dint of merit, he gained friends and nation-wide respect.

May God grant him eternal peace and may He fortify you in this time of grief.

Living in France, I regret I was unable to be present to pay my last respects.
Stay strong, stay Blessed by His Grace.
